Aftercare
ALWAYS CLEAN TATTOO WITH CLEAN HANDS, AFTER WASHING THEM.
Tagaderm Abrasion Bandages
Leave tagaderm on and sealed to skin for approximately 1-5 days. No more than 5 days.
If the bandage is compromised, meaning either leaking or peeling off, take the bandage off immediately and go wash with gentle unscented antibacterial soap and warm water. Pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel.
Warm water helps loosen the adhesive. So if you want to take it off, let the warm water over the bandage and it will be easier to peel off from corner to corner. Then just wash the liquid that was under the bandage.
Let the tattoo dry out 1-2 washes before applying any gentle unscented lotion.
Only apply lotion to clean and dry the tattoo. (After washes)
Don’t over moisturize, if moisture bubbles form after lotion, you applied too much, pat off bubbles with clean paper towel and use less next time.
These bandages will be full with liquid, discolored and muddy as if the tattoo looks blurry. This is normal for the bandage is meant to heal skin abrasion and burns. The trapping of the fluid doesn’t allow any scab to form.
Basically the bandage becomes the first protective barrier for your tattoo so it doesn’t form a scab to heal the wound. The liquid will ensure there isn’t any ink fall out by staying around and on the tattoo.
The bandage will shorten the healing process and make it quicker the longer it is left on, undisturbed.
The tattoo will be itchy during the bandage process, don’t scratch. Patting helps, don’t pick any skin that starts to peel off if you do start to have dry spots. It’s normal, let the tattoo heal out fully. 3 weeks should be completely healed.
This bandage is waterproof so you can shower and do life with it but don’t fully submerge for 3 weeks while healing.
TEMPORARY Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
Take plastic wrap off of tattoo as soon as you get home, anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours.
Wash with gentle antibacterial soap as soon as plastic wrap is removed. Pat dry with a clean paper towel or clean towel.
Lotion after 2 washes and apply on clean tattoo with clean hands.
Do this process 2-3 times a day for 3 weeks until tattoo is fully healed.
Your tattoo will peel but don’t flake off the skin or pick at it. Let the tattoo fully heal on its own other than keeping it clean and lotion at night or when dry.
If you notice any redness during the healing process its normal, after please contact tattoo artist, call the shop and/or call your doctor.
Thanks!
